The latest generation of automated urinalysis testing technology includes these instruments:

  • The Clinitek Advantus analyzer, launched in March by Siemens Medical Solutions Diagnostics, performs automated reading of testing strips at up to 500 tests per hour.
  • The Urisys 2400, made by Roche Diagnostics, is a fully automated urinalysis system for laboratories with typically more than 100 urine samples per day.
  • Sysmex’s UF-1000 automated urinalysis analyzer, a new generation of particle analyzer, is to debut at the AACC in July.
  • Iris International’s iChem Velocity urine chemistry system, which combines with the iQ200 microscopy system to form the iRICELL Complete Urinalysis WorkCell, is slated to launch this year pending FDA approval.
