February 2017—Chi Solutions, an Accumen company, has released a research report that includes the results of its 15th annual comprehensive Outreach Survey, conducted in early 2016. In its report, Chi presents key findings and trends resulting from survey participation of hospital and health systems with laboratory outreach programs and how they compare with 2001–10 averages (considered to be the base years). One of the most informative findings from the report, according to the statement, was that 55 percent of respondents could not claim connectivity to physician office electronic medical records and practice management systems as a strength of their outreach program, even with the increased emphasis on its importance in the industry.
