OBJECTIVES

• Describe the role of liver biopsy
• Develop a systematic approach to interpreting medical liver biopsies
• Identify common morphologic patterns of injury & recognize the differential for each pattern
• Compose a report that includes diagnostic prognostic and clinically relevant information
• Summarize the changes to the 2016 WHO classification of testicular tumors
• Use morphologic evaluation and immunohistochemisrty to resolve common differential diagnosis problems in testicular tumor pathology
• Use knowledge on new approaches to classification and grading of prostate cancer that the attendees may apply in daily practice.
• Use knowledge on the differential diagnosis of those benign entities that may be misdiagnosed as prostate cancer. Such knowledge  is critical in the daily practice of urologic surgical pathology.
• Use knowledge on new approaches to classification of bladder cancer variants that the attendees may apply in daily practice.
• Use morphologic evaluation and immunohistochemisrty to resolve common differential diagnosis problems in testicular tumor pathology
• Use knowledge on new approaches to classification of renal cell tumors and cancer that the attendees may apply in daily practice.
• Develop a familiarity with the breadth of newly described entities in the update WHO classification of salivary gland tumors
• Recognize the typical clinical and morphologic features of cribriform adenocarcinoma of minor salivary gland (CAMSG) and the possible differential diagnostic pitfalls
• Describe the histologic variation seen in the hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma (HCCC), and understand the role of molecular testing for this diagnosis
• Describe the morphologic, immunohistochemical and molecular features of mammary analog secrtory carcinoma (MASC) and how it overlaps with other salivary gland tumors
• Summarize the evolution of diagnostic neuropathology from reliance on pure morphology to integrative diagnosis
• Show how recent discoveries of molecular biomarkers have altered the practice of neuropathology in the diagnosis of brain tumors
• Summarize the application of benefits and challenges of advance diagnostic technologies in clinical practice
• Counsel clinicians on risks, benefits and alternatives to plasma transfusion for acquired coagulopathy and bleeding
• Recommend appropriate dose of prothrombin complex concentrate for urgent reversal of warfarin anticoagulation
• Recommend appropriate selection of plasma, cryoprecipitate or fibrinogen concentrate based on patient factors and situation
