How is the digital edition different from the print format?
The digital version of CAP TODAY is an exact replica of the print magazine but with these advantages: the ability to easily save and share articles, perform searches, and link directly to featured information.

Is there a way to read articles in larger type?
By double-clicking on an article, a separate, scrollable text box—containing the entire multi-page article in larger type—will pop up on your screen. On the left, you’ll see an option for Text or Paper. If you don’t want images to be included in the new window, click Text. Selecting Close in the upper-right hand corner of the pop-up window will return you to the main pages.

How do I access a previous issue?
In the top navigation bar, choose the Back Issues button. A new window will open up containing thumbnails of the current and past 12 issues of CAP TODAY. Single-click on any of the thumbnails to view that issue.

How do I search the current and archived editions?
In the top navigation bar, choose the Search tab. Before searching for a word or set of words, choose from the drop-down menus: This Issue or All Issues (previous 12 months) and Articles, Ads, or Both.
Please note: The search feature uses optical-character recognition (OCR), which provides very good, but not always perfect, matches.

How do I view and navigate from the current issue’s table of contents?
In the top navigation bar, choose the Contents tab to access links to each of the articles in the current issue.

How do I e-mail pages of the magazine to a colleague?
From the page you would like to send, choose the Envelope or E-mail icon in the top navigation bar. You’ll have the option of sending the page link to multiple recipients with or without your own personal message.

How do I print pages from the digital edition?
Once you open an issue, choose the Printer icon in the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar. A dialog box will open with the option to print the current page, a selection of pages, or the entire issue on your choice of letter, legal, or tabloid paper. Once you click Print, your individual PC print window should appear and you can proceed to print the item.

How do I read the digital edition offline?
To view the digital edition offline, the entire issue must be saved to your computer hard drive. To save, choose the Save/Download icon in the upper-right corner of the top navigation bar. Choose Download Magazine PDF from the drop-down menu. Your download of the entire issue should begin immediately. Alternatively, you can print entire pages for later reference.

How do I search for an advertiser?
Each issue’s Index of Advertisers (found within the Marketplace section of the print edition) includes an active link to each advertisement in the magazine. You can also use the digital edition’s search feature to search for an advertiser name or keyword.

What are the operating system requirements?
All you need is access to a standard Web browser, e.g. Microsoft Explorer, Firefox, or Safari, with the Adobe Flash plug-in installed. There are no operating system limitations or special applications required.
What is Adobe Flash Player and where do I get it?
Adobe Flash Player is a free Web browser plug-in from Adobe that displays content created with Adobe Flash. This plug-in is widely used and installed automatically with all major browsers. If it is not installed, the application automatically checks for it and, if not found, will alert you, and in most cases, provide you with a download link. Why can’t I open the digital edition?
There are several reasons why you may have difficulty opening the magazine.
• You’re not connecting to the Internet through a high-speed connection.
• The browser you’re using is not supported. Supported browsers: Internet Explorer Version 6, Internet Explorer Version 7, Internet Explorer Version 8, Firefox Version 2, and Firefox Version 3 for the PC. Safari 3, Safari 4, Firefox 2, and Firefox 3 for the Mac.
• The version of Flash running on your PC is not supported. Supported versions are Flash version 9 or later. To find your Flash version go to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
• If you’re in a corporate setting, firewalls may block the pages. You may need to white list the CAP TODAY digital site.

How do I get more information about an instrument or software system appearing in an online product guide?
At the top of each product listing, there should be a contact name, e-mail address, and phone number. Whenever possible, please contact the company directly for more information about their instrument or software system. Otherwise, you can direct your questions through our online contact form. Please be sure to indicate the company you’d like to hear from.

How do I compare products side by side?
Each product guide opens with a list of participating companies and products. Adjacent to each company and product name are two links: View Product Listing, which leads to a detailed list of the product’s features, and Add to Compare Product, which adds the product to your Compare Products list. Products can also be added using the Add to Compare Product link near the top of an individual listing.
Whether you’re viewing the opening page of company/product links or an individual listing, your comparison list will appear in the left-hand column under the heading Compare Products. Once you’ve finished choosing your list items, hit the Compare button in the lower right-hand corner of the Compare Products list. A new window will open containing your side-by-side comparisons, which you can print using the Print This Page link in the upper-right hand corner. A Close Window button is located at the bottom of the comparison.
