July 2016—Invitrogen SuperScript IV VILO Master Mix from Thermo Fisher Scientific is a cDNA reaction master mix designed for two-step quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR) applications. The master mix format uses variable input, linear output technology and combines optimized buffer conditions with Invitrogen SuperScript IV reverse transcriptase. The new formulation allows the cDNA reaction to occur at higher temperatures with shorter reaction times, resulting in greater cDNA yields and sensitivity even with samples of suboptimal purity and low template levels.
Other features include cDNA synthesis in 10 minutes, optional removal of gDNA in two minutes, and high yields—consistently lowered cycle threshold values by more than two cycles compared with other commercially available RTs, according to a company statement.
