February 2022—EliTechGroup MDx announced its research use only SARS-CoV-2 Extended test kit reliably differentiates the SARS-CoV-2 omicron (B.1.1.529) variant from other variants of concern. The in silico analysis was confirmed by testing patient samples positive for different SARS-CoV-2 variants including omicron. The SARS-CoV-2 Extended RUO reagents differentiate the alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and omicron variants in a single multiplex PCR and test for the presence of specific mutations in the regions of the S gene corresponding to positions 452, 484, and 501 of the spike protein. The combination of the melting curve analysis and the optical channel information allows for unambiguous differentiation of the five SARS-CoV-2 variants. The results can be interpreted and released when the reagents are used on the sample-to-result Elite InGenius system.

September 2020—EliTechGroup launched its Aerospray Cytology Slide Stainer Cytocentrifuge, which automates the preparation and staining of liquid-based cytology specimens to facilitate the examination of an array of cell differentiations using Papanicolaou staining techniques. The device performs two functions of sample preparation through cytocentrifugation and sample staining. It maximizes cell recovery to the slide through the use of its Cytopro Rotor, eliminates cross-contamination with an application of fresh stain for each slide, and provides programmable regressive and progressive staining capabilities that can be stored in memory.

April 23, 2020—ELITechGroup MDx and its Korean partner, Osang Healthcare, announced that the FDA has issued emergency use authorization for its SARS-CoV-2 virus test for use in the United States.

October 2018—EliTechGroup Biomedical Systems released its FDA-cleared Macroduct Advanced Sweat Collection System for use in the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis. The system includes a touchscreen user interface with step-by-step graphical instructions that help standardize pilocarpine iontophoresis and sweat collection.

August 2018—EliTechGroup and R-Biopharm announced an agreement in which the two companies will develop, produce, and market real-time PCR reagents.

May 2018—ElitechGroup Molecular Diagnostics introduced two high-performance, real-time PCR analyte specific reagents for JC virus and human herpes virus 8 detection.
