Beckman launches DxU Iris Workcell urinalysis solution

Oct. 15, 2021—Beckman Coulter launched at this year’s AACC Annual Scientific Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo its DxU Iris Workcell, a fully automated system designed for high-volume laboratories that streamlines urinalysis workflow and reduces manual reviews to four percent.

The DxU Iris pairs the DxU 840m/850m Iris urine microscopy analyzer with the Arkray Aution Max 4030 urine chemistry analyzer. It was developed with digital flow morphology technology using auto-particle recognition software to enable laboratories to deliver standardized results using artificial intelligence. The technology isolates, identifies, and characterizes urine particles to provide immediate, accurate, and reproducible results verified onscreen.

Features of the system include an optional load and unload station that increases the capacity of racks to 190 onboard samples and an intuitive software user interface to navigate the analyzer menu, access key reference information, and simplify user training in a format aligned with many of the company’s instruments. It connects with the company’s PROService remote service tool, DxOne command central remote monitoring, and REMISOL Advance middleware.
