July 2018—Immucor announced its next-generation, fully automated Echo Lumena received FDA clearance. Echo Lumena is the company’s fifth-generation benchtop immunohematology instrument, designed for small- to mid-volume laboratories.
New capabilities include an enhanced reader module that provides real-time results and on-screen verification. Hardware and software upgrades power assay algorithm modifications that improve performance and include an updated Microsoft operating system and increased software security. More process controls and reagent controls aim to maximize safety and security, and stat samples can be loaded at any time.
