Meridian launches a high-fidelity polymerase

Feb. 24, 2020—Meridian Bioscience launched High-Specificity Pfu HS Mix, a high-fidelity PCR master mix containing an aptamer to create a reversible, temperature-dependent hot-start and Pfu buffer, tailored for low GC bias amplification. The 3’–5′ proofreading exonuclease activity of High-Specificity Pfu HS Mix makes it ideal, the company says, for target enrichment, NGS library amplification, and cloning applications.

“In NGS-based clinical assays, being able to sequence all the DNA regions of the sample independently from GC content is essential,” Florent Chang-Pi-Hin, PhD, senior director of research and development at Meridian, said in a press release. “Using our extensive expertise in enzymes and buffer systems, High-Specificity Pfu HS Mix has been designed to achieve this. From target enrichment to library amplification, it allows better NGS data and more accurate results.”
