Olympus Slideview VS200 digital slide scanner

Nov. 5, 2019—Olympus Life Science introduced its Slideview VS200 slide scanner, designed to capture high-resolution images for quantitative analysis for brain, cancer, and stem cell research, as well as drug discovery.

The scanner uses Olympus X Line objectives to deliver flatter images with a wide field of view and no intensity fall off at the periphery, to improve numerical aperture, and to offer a wider range of chromatic correction. The system has five imaging modes—brightfield, fluorescence, darkfield, phase contrast, and simple polarization—and supports 26 × 76 mm (1 × 3 in.), 52 × 76 mm (2 × 3 in.), 76 × 102 mm (3 × 4 in.), and 102 × 127 mm (4 × 5 in.) slides. It holds up to 35 sample trays with a maximum capacity of 210 1- × 3-in. slides. Trays can be added to the loader before all the trays of a given project have been scanned. Users can begin scanning a slide in as few as two clicks.
