May 2018—Sysmex America announced the availability of its first fully automated urine particle counter and digital imaging system, the UN-2000. The scalable system is composed of the UF-5000 automated urine particle analyzer and UD-10 automated urine particle digital imaging device.
Using fluorescence flow cytometry, the UN-2000 reduces hands-on review, delivering accurate particle quantitation and differentiation through walkaway loading, standardized criteria with high reproducibility, quantitative measurement, and automated validation, the company reports.
The system features user-definable rule settings, data management with the Urinalysis Data Manager software, and a high-quality digital camera. It offers quality control with the BeyondCare Quality Monitor, which aims to streamline the end-to-end process of running controls and reviewing results. Red, yellow, and green color-coded alerts track and annotate quality control. Customers can access peer group analytics and lot-to-lot quality control management.
