Sysmex enhances customer training with new learning center

Aug. 23, 2018—Sysmex has opened a state-of-the-art 98,000-square-foot Center for Learning in Vernon Hills, Ill.

The multimillion-dollar facility provides a training environment for 3,000 customers—who will be taught virtually and on site—and 1,400 Sysmex employees annually. It has more than triple the training capacity of the previous Center for Learning, with two conventional classrooms for laboratory professionals and six classrooms for Sysmex technical engineers, the company reports. The facility also houses seven broadcast studios for virtual instructor-led training. The studios feature a commercial-grade sound booth for generating voice-overs for a variety of training purposes, including future podcasts. One of the studios includes a green screen.

Approximately 40 employees are based at the new Center for Learning, which is less than three miles from the Sysmex America regional headquarters in Lincolnshire, Ill. Occupancy can increase to a total of 80 staff members and students when classes are in session.

“Since 2003, training has been the centerpiece of the unique package of support that Sysmex America provides its customers in the U.S. and Canada,” according to a Sysmex press release. “Each product purchase includes a number of training slots used by customers to help key staff learn the skills needed to operate their recently purchased high-tech equipment.”

Sysmex’s former Center for Learning will be converted into a final assembly and staging location for its new XW-100 CBC analyzer, the company reports.
