Aquaro launches Wishbone blade-handling tool

July 19, 2018—Aquaro Histology announced the launch of the Aquaro Wishbone microtome blade-handling tool. The handheld tool allows histologists to remove and dispose of blades, as well as insert and align them, without having to touch to the blade. These features aim to improve safety and help to prevent lost specimen tissue that can result from a misaligned blade.

“The Aquaro Wishbone represents one of the core values of our company, which is improving safety around microtomy,” Greg Krueger, VP of sales and marketing, Aquaro Histology, said in a press release. “We are delighted to offer a tool that we believe will reduce injuries and help histologists align the microtome blade for better sectioning.”

The Aquaro Wishbone complements the company’s Aquaro ASM, which facilitates hands-free microtomy by transferring paraffin-embedded sections from the blade to slides.
