Aug. 6, 2026—Epredia announced an agreement with Canada-based manufacturer Lab Improvements to bring automated archiving to U.S. pathology labs, adding Lab Improvements’ BlockTracker and SlideTracker to its product portfolio. Designed for pathologists and laboratory leaders at hospitals, university medical centers, reference labs, and cancer centers, the two systems automate the sorting, storage, and retrieval of pathology blocks and slides. BlockTracker archives up to 1,500 blocks per hour, while SlideTracker loads 200 slides in less than five minutes and automatically segments them by barcode. Together, the systems store blocks and slides physically and digitally, organizing samples across locations, while high-density storage reduces space requirements and optimizes local and off-site storage.
The platform integrates with other Epredia products, including the SlideMate laser printer for slides and cassettes.
