February 2014—Leica Biosystems announced a partnership with EyesFinder, a developer of visual search technology, to create decision support tools for pathologists.

The visual search tools will enable instant use of vast information from cloud-hosted repositories. “Visual search will revolutionize the practice of pathology and free up massive resources that could be directed elsewhere,” said Puneet Sarin, vice president, general manager, pathology imaging, Leica Biosystems. “It has potential to not only aid analysis, but serve as a much needed post-interpretive quality assessment tool.”
