FDA clears BioFire FilmArray Gl Panel Mid

Feb. 12, 2025—BioMérieux announced that its BioFire FilmArray Gastrointestinal (GI) Panel Mid has obtained FDA clearance. The molecular PCR test is capable of simultaneously detecting 11 pathogens directly from a stool sample from individuals presenting with signs or symptoms of gastrointestinal infection. It runs on the BioFire FilmArray 2.0 and Torch PCR platforms, requires about two minutes of hands-on time, and has an approximate run time of one hour.

The panel will be commercially available in the United States at the end of the first half of this year.
