March 2025—Cision Vision has introduced its InVision imaging system and Vision Board. The technologies aim to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of lymph node dissections at the gross bench.
The InVision imaging system is a portable, shortwave infrared imaging device designed to help pathology professionals identify lymph nodes that are often overlooked, including those that evade traditional palpation and visual inspection. InVision provides a real-time contrast between lymph nodes and surrounding adipose tissue, enabling a faster, noninvasive approach that aims to improve reporting turnaround time and ensure more comprehensive examinations. The Vision Board integrates InVision’s shortwave infrared technology into a high-quality cutting board with its own display, offering a portable solution that fits onto any grossing station.
Features of InVision and the Vision Board include the ability to identify submillimeter lymph nodes, even in specimens such as neoadjuvant-treated rectal cancers, and USB image storage, allowing users to incorporate captured images into patient records.
