Agena launches panel for SARS-CoV-2 variants

April 2021—Agena Bioscience launched its MassArray SARS-CoV-2 Variant Panel (RUO) for the detection of key SARS-CoV-2 virus strains.

The dual-well, qualitative research use assay contains one GAPDH assay that serves as an internal control for nucleic acid extraction, reverse transcription, PCR, SAP, and extension steps; one assay probing the SARS-CoV-2 viral nucleocapsid gene; and one assay for each of the five variants—B.1.1.7, B.1.351, P.1, Cluster 5, and D614G—targeting a total of 20 mutations.
