Alpha-Tec launches SARS-CoV-2, HPV controls

August 2020—Alpha-Tec Systems has partnered with Microbix to provide whole-genome molecular REDx control products for SARS-CoV-2 and human papillomavirus to qualify and validate the elution, extraction, amplification, and detection steps of nucleic acid testing workflows.

REDx controls include 100 percent of the genome sequences of the target viruses and emulate real patient samples while remaining reproduceable, noninfectious, and stable. The controls are compatible with multiple testing platforms and are available as ready-to-use FLOQSwabs or as liquid vials.
