November 2021—Arlington Scientific has acquired a nonmammalian blocking buffer product line from Clark McDermith, former owner of EastCoast Bio. Arlington Scientific will be the exclusive worldwide manufacturer of the proprietary blocking buffers.
Products from the acquisition include the Balance Blocking Buffer, a universal blocking reagent that provides superior blocking for sensitive assay systems; Aquatic Block Serum Free, a serum- and plasma-free blocking buffer optimized for use with nitrocellulose in lateral flow assays and ELISA systems; Aquatic Block, which is formulated for ELISA assay development; and AquaBlock, which reduces nonspecific protein attachment when used with a blotting membrane.
