Oct. 6, 2020—Beckman Coulter has received emergency use authorization for its Access Interleukin-6 assay from the FDA. Access IL-6 is a fully automated immunoassay designed to detect IL-6 levels in serum and plasma. The results can be used to help physicians identify a severe inflammatory response and determine the risk of intubation with mechanical ventilation in patients with COVID-19.
