Sarstedt collection products for arterial and capillary blood gas determinations, consisting of 1-mL and 2-mL plastic blood gas syringes, contain a fine dispersion of calcium-balanced heparin, resulting in a large surface area for good solubility and quick mixing.
A ventilation filter cap that removes air from the syringes after blood collection in a hygienic and contamination-free environment is available pre-assembled on the 2-mL syringe or separately. The cap also serves as a closure for transport to the analyzer.
Sarstedt blood gas capillaries are manufactured from break-resistant plastic with low gas permeability for safe collection and accurate test results. A variety of sizes and volumes are available. Secure caps prevent blood gases from escaping and prevent contamination by ambient air. Mixing wires and magnets enable complete sample mixing.
