At the AACC show 2015

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics revealed its latest IVD solutions, including the Advia Centaur XPT Immunoassay System. Recently FDA-cleared, this high-throughput analyzer is designed to provide continuous operation and seamless connectivity, including to Aptio Automation. The XPT is not available in the U.S.

Aptio Automation’s connectivity options include the Advia Chemistry XPT System, Siemens’ newest high-throughput chemistry analyzer, and the Sysmex CS-5100 System, a high-volume hemostasis analyzer now under FDA review.

Siemens also featured the Sysmex CS-2100i System, a mid-volume benchtop hemostasis analyzer. Currently under FDA review, the CS-2100i uses simultaneous multiwavelength detection and PSI technology to manage unsuitable coagulation samples.

On display for point-of-care testing was the Xprecia Stride handheld coagulation system for prothrombin time testing (not for sale in the U.S.). In hematology, the company now offers small to mid-sized laboratories the Advia 360 Hematology System, Advia 560 Hematology System, and Advia 560 AL Hematology System, each of which became available worldwide earlier this year. All parameters are not available in the U.S.

In Siemens’ booth were its latest products in urinalysis, infectious disease and molecular testing, and customer education, including the Clinitek AUWi Pro Automated Urinalysis System.

Making its debut was Siemens PEPconnect, part of the company’s total Personalized Education Plan. With optimized technology and increased search capabilities, PEPconnect allows customers to access education and real-time performance support virtually anytime, anywhere, and on any device.
