Epredia, Lunaphore distribution agreement

July 2020—Epredia and Lunaphore Technologies SA announced they have entered into a distribution agreement.

Under the terms of the agreement, Epredia has been appointed the exclusive distributor of the LabSat Research platform in the U.S., U.K., and Germany, where Epredia will start to distribute the product, as well as Japan, where commercialization will begin in 2021. In these countries, Epredia will also provide service for the Lunaphore instruments.

Lunaphore’s platform complements Epredia’s LabVision IHC portfolio to offer a complete line of IHC solutions for research laboratories. One of the core elements of Lunaphore’s systems are proprietary staining microfluidic chips, the companies said in a press release, which create a closed chamber that deliver reagents to tissue samples in a homogenous and instantaneous way. Regular frozen sections can be stained with standard IHC reagents in 12 to 18 minutes, and FFPE sections can be stained with standard IHC reagents in 20 to 30 minutes. LabSat can also perform tyramide signal amplification–based immunofluorescent multiplexing, obtaining a six-plex in just over four hours.
