Illumina launched its TruSight One sequencing panel, which targets 4,813 genes with known associated clinical phenotypes. Clinical research laboratories can use this panel to expand existing menus, streamline workflows, or create an entire portfolio of sequencing options, with benefits including increased productivity, reduced handling errors, and decreased costs.
The power of TruSight One is enhanced by Illumina’s user-friendly VariantStudio analysis and reporting software. To coincide with the introduction of the sequencing panel, VariantStudio will offer new features that expand annotation and filtering capabilities. These features include providing support for family-based filtering, providing variant classifications, and generating ready-to-use reports. The sequencing panel can also be used to create dozens of virtual subpanels to fit the needs of any clinical researcher seeking to understand the genetic basis of disease.
