September 2026—Integrated DNA Technologies and Illumina are collaborating to enable a DRAGEN secondary analysis pipeline for IDT xGen FFPE and cfDNA next-generation sequencing library preparation with custom panels. The DRAGEN somatic for IDT custom panels is built for IDT library prep workflows and designed for challenging formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded samples with a new, low-quality FFPE mode. The integrated workflow allows users to collect more reliable insights from degraded oncology research samples. Data analyzed in DRAGEN somatic for IDT custom panels is compatible with the Illumina Connected Insights variant interpretation platform. Initial workflows focus on FFPE samples; a version of the joint workflow for cfDNA liquid-biopsy-targeted applications will be available next year. The product is for research use only.
