May 29, 2026—Leica Biosystems, Indica Labs, and Lunit are partnering to develop AI-powered image analysis algorithms. The collaboration will focus on PD-L1 and emerging immunohistochemistry biomarkers and brings together Leica Biosystems’ PD-L1 IHC assay platform, Aperio GT 450 digital pathology scanner, Aperio Halo AP image management solution, and Lunit Scope biomarker scoring algorithm to deliver an AI-powered pathology workflow. The companies say the integrated workflow will support pharmaceutical partners conducting clinical research.
“By combining Leica Biosystems’ expertise in IHC staining and digital pathology, Indica Labs’ image management platform, and Lunit’s advanced AI analysis, the partnership aims to support consistent scoring approaches, enable robust biomarker analysis, and accelerate research,” according to a joint press statement from the companies.
The first product is an AI-powered Lunit Scope algorithm designed for Leica Biosystems’ PD-L1 primary antibody (CAL10). The new algorithm, Lunit Scope PD-L1 CAL10 NSCLC, is for research use only and available now through Leica Biosystems’ Aperio AI Store.
