Donald A. B. Lindberg, MD, former director of the National Library of Medicine, passed away on August 17. Past member of the CAP, Dr. Lindberg graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1958. He was a professor of information science and professor of pathology at the University of Missouri-Columbia before being named director of the NLM in 1984. Read his New York Times obituary.
