Nov. 13, 2020—Nova Biomedical announced the availability of Nova Primary, a rapid blood glucose laboratory analyzer that aims to fill the need for a glucose reference analyzer to replace the YSI Stat Plus 2300 Glucose and L-Lactate analyzer, which, as of July 2021, will no longer be supported by YSI, Inc.
The analyzer uses a single, reusable glucose electrochemical sensor based on glucose oxidase and has a measurement range of 10 to 900 mg/dL. It uses a 25-μL venous whole blood or plasma sample; results are available in about two minutes. The analyzer’s large color touchscreen display and intuitive, icon-based graphical user interface make it easy to use, the company says. A single calibrator pack uses RFID data management to monitor the pack expiration date and number of samples remaining. The analyzer measures 17 x 11 x 18 in.
