June 2020—Nova Biomedical launched its Stat EMS Basic blood testing system for ambulance and emergency care in countries that require the CE mark. Stat EMS Basic measures fingerstick capillary lactate, glucose, ketone, hemoglobin, and hematocrit in six to 40 seconds.
The system is a smaller, non-connectivity version of Nova’s Stat EMS system and with the same test menu. Stat EMS Basic combines battery-operated StatStrip Xpress2 meters in a lightweight, soft case that is designed to fit in a medic’s bag and holds all system components: meters, test strips, controls, and lancets. The meters use Nova’s patented, disposable test strips, including a lactate test strip cleared for fingerstick testing and a glucose test strip FDA cleared for use with critically ill patients.
