July 23, 2026—Seegene USA has received FDA emergency use authorization for the Allplex HSV-1&2/VZV/MPXV assay, designed to enable the concurrent detection of herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, varicella-zoster virus, and mpox virus (clade I/II and clade II) in a single test. The company reports that the assay is the first multiplex PCR test designed to support differential diagnosis of viral causes of ulcerative skin lesions in the U.S. market.
