April 2019—PMT Scientific, a company that designs morgue, pathology, histology, and vivarium medical equipment, is now operating in Redford, Mich. PMT Scientific focuses on providing custom grossing stations along with a complete array of pathology equipment.
Its grossing stations incorporate height-adjustable actuators, high-color-rendering lighting, and durable and easy-to-maintain plumbing fixtures, and can come equipped with air quality monitoring devices.
“With customer input, PMT Scientific has developed state-of-the-art lighting and integrated imaging to maximize case-handling efficiency,” the company reports. Digital imaging integration is offered in partnership with Virtus Imaging; integrated imaging provides high-output case management and touch-free image processing.
The company’s formalin dispensing system, Forma-Flow, is compatible with its grossing station and has a patent-pending design. Forma-Flow is designed to eliminate formalin bubbling and splatter, evacuate fumes from stored formalin, provide ergonomic formalin transfer from carboys, and eliminate the need for pump priming.
PMT Scientific is headed by business partners Max Corona and Jane VanDusen, who both have more than 25 years of pathology equipment design, manufacturing, and installation experience.
