February 2020—Verichem Laboratories announced the availability of its HDL Cholesterol Verifier kit intended for the calibration verification of HDL and LDL cholesterol assays. The kit contains high-density and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol from human serum in a ready-to-use, liquid stable format that is free of surfactants, glycols, and azide. The serum-like formulation contains a blend of highly purified human serum albumin, human serum globulin, and bovine gamma globulin in saline. Protein balance, pH, and ion content is constant across testing levels. The kit contains a six-level set with 5 mL of material at each level, a product insert, a value assignment sheet, and organizer tray. The materials are packaged in translucent polyethylene dropper vials and offer a shelf life of 14 months when stored at -15° to -25°C.
The company also announced the release of its Serum ISE Standard Kit for the calibration and calibration verification of ISE and colorimetric testing systems. The materials come in a ready-to-use, liquid stable format free of surfactants, glycols, azide, and other interfering substances. The kit contains a five-level multianalyte (sodium, potassium, chloride, and lithium) set with 15 mL of material at each level, a product insert, a certificate of analysis, and organizer tray. Shelf life is 18 months when stored at 2° to 8°C.
