Asuragen launches CFTR testing kit

March 2022—Asuragen has launched a kit to detect pathogenic variants in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) gene. The AmplideX PCR/CE CFTR Kit, for research use only, is designed to detect about 93 percent of CFTR pathogenic variants observed in the U.S. population. The kit can identify a range of variant types, including copy number variants, single tandem repeats, single nucleotide polymorphisms, insertions, and deletions. It can also resolve variant zygosity.

The assay delivers results in less than five hours and is for use on commonly used PCR and capillary electrophoresis laboratory equipment.
