February 2022—Verichem Laboratories offers an array of liquid-stable, ready-to-use multilevel reference materials for total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein, and low-density lipoprotein testing. The Matrix Plus Total Cholesterol Reference Kit, the Matrix Plus Total Cholesterol Reference Level F, and the HDL Cholesterol Verifier Kit are intended for calibration verification and are compatible with a variety of wet chemistry clinical analyzers. The materials are intended to be treated as human specimens.

The Matrix Plus Total Cholesterol Reference Kit and the optional level F comprise a six-level set of materials, with cholesterol concentrations ranging from 40 to 750 mg/dL. The kit is packaged for multiuse, contains 15 mL of material in opaque polyethylene dropper vials, and has a shelf life of 21 months from the manufacturing date when stored at 2°–8°C. The HDL Cholesterol Verifier Kit includes six separate concentration levels of HDL and LDL cholesterol. The product is packaged with 5 mL of material at each concentration level. Shelf life is 14 months from the manufacturing date when stored at -15°– -25°C. The product can be frozen and thawed for up to 10 cycles without affecting concentration accuracy or test performance.

Verichem has also released two liquid-stable, ready-to-use test kits containing reference materials intended for the calibration and calibration verification of clinical electrolyte testing systems. The multianalyte kits are for use with clinical instrument systems employing direct or indirect ISE, flame photometer, or standard colorimetric testing methodologies.
