March 2023—LGC Clinical Diagnostics has launched the Seraseq gDNA BRCA1/2 LGR Somatic Mutation Mix and Seraseq gDNA BRCA1/2 LGR Inherited Mutation Mix. The products are intended for use as quality reference materials in developing, validating, and evaluating the routine performance of laboratory tests and are for research use only.
The materials are designed at variant allele frequencies of approximately 10 percent and 50 percent, respectively, and include 20 pathogenic BRCA1/2 variants: nine deletions, five single nucleotide variants, four indels, and two insertions. All mutations are blended against the well-characterized GM24385 human genomic DNA as wildtype background material.
