June 2021—Mikroscan Technologies announced the availability of its upgraded 5-20 series line of telemicroscopy and digital pathology systems, featuring a 20-slide autoloader.

The 5-20 series, along with the company’s SL5 Dual-Mode Real-Time Telemicroscopy and Digital Pathology system and L5 Real-Time Telemicroscopy system, has an increased scanning speed of 20 slides per day based on a 15- × 15-mm specimen, an auto dock-and-lock feature that secures the stage for transport, a 4K-resolution monitor, and a high-resolution main camera. The system fits on a desktop or cart.

“With a 20-slide capacity, the 5-20 Series mirrors the existing workflow of traditional slide folders and allows pathologists to keep all the slides related to a single case together. The random-access capability also allows the pathologist to determine the order of slide review,” Martin Stuart, PhD, president and CEO of Mikroscan, said in a press statement.
