August 2018—Qiagen launched the QIAseq 16S/ITS Panels and UCP Multiplex PCR Kit with a new generation of reagents to enable accurate microbial community profiling from complex microbiome samples. The UCP Multiplex PCR Kit is a standalone product as well as a component of the QIAseq 16S/ITS Panels. The PCR master mix features nucleic-acid-depleted reagents that are tested for bacterial and fungal DNA contamination and inhibitor-resistant amplification, for templates with up to 70 percent GC content.
The QIAseq 16S/ITS NGS Panels provide profiling of bacterial and fungal communities with the flexibility to interrogate any combination of bacterial 16S variable regions and fungal ITS regions on Illumina platforms. Panels are available for the nine variable regions and the ITS regions, and users can index from 24 to 384 samples in a panel.
