November 2022—Siemens Healthineers announced that its Innovance VWF Ac assay is available to U.S. laboratories for use on the company’s BCS XP system and on Sysmex CS-2500 and CS-5100 hemostasis analyzers.
The liquid, ready-to-use assay is a VWF glycoprotein IbM assay, which measures the platelet-binding activity of VWF without the need for ristocetin, as recommended by the 2021 guidelines of the American Society of Hematology, International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, National Hemophilia Foundation, and World Federation of Hemophilia for diagnosing von Willenbrand disease. The turbidimetric latex-based assay requires no stirring and offers excellent precision and lot-to-lot consistency, the company says.
