Xpert HBV Viral Load gets CE-IVD mark

May 2019—Cepheid announced the CE-IVD marking of Xpert HBV Viral Load, a rapid test for the quantitation of hepatitis B virus that delivers results in less than one hour. Xpert HBV Viral Load is intended for use as an indicator of disease prognosis and as an aid in assessing viral response to antiviral treatment as measured by changes in plasma or serum HBV DNA levels.

The test is run on the GeneXpert platform and is available in the European Union and in countries that recognize the CE mark; it is not available in the United States.
