Method evaluation standards, 11/15
November 2015—CLSI released new and revised standards on method evaluation titled “A Framework for Using CLSI Documents to Evaluate Clinical Laboratory Measurement Procedures (EP19-Ed2).”
Thursday, May 28, 2026, 1:00–2:00 PM ET
This session is designed to improve understanding and application of recent updates to synoptic pathology reporting protocols such as the latest Reporting Template for Reporting Results of Biomarker Testing of Specimens from Patients with Carcinoma of the Breast. These changes reflect evolving clinical guidelines that directly influence diagnostic accuracy and treatment selection in breast cancer care.
Webinar presenters Thaer Khoury, MD, FCAP, Chair, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Cente, and Colin Murphy, CEO of mTuitive.
Moderated by: Bob McGonnagle, Publisher, CAP TODAY
Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 1:00–2:00 PM ET
In this webinar, we will examine how immune recognition after allogeneic HCT can influence leukemia relapse and disease progression. The session will highlight the clinical relevance of HLA loss of heterozygosity (LOH), approaches used for its detection, and how LOH findings may support transplant strategies, including considerations for donor selection in subsequent transplantation.
Webinar presenter Alberto Cardoso Martins Lima, PhD, Clinical consulting scientist in histocompatibility,
specializing in allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) at IGEN/AFIP São Paulo and CHC/UFPR in Curitiba, Brazil

November 2015—Roche has launched the SeqCap EZ Med-Exome Target Enrichment Kit, a comprehensive whole exome sequencing solution designed to increase the discovery and detection of human genetic variants associated with disease while reducing sequencing costs. For research use only; not for use in diagnostic procedures.
November 2015—General Data Healthcare has introduced five products for the histology lab. The ID/Positive CL-04 Laser Cassette Marker offers permanent, indelible marking of tissue cassettes and slides with high-resolution text and barcodes and features four removable cassette magazines, each holding up to 70 cassettes, for a total of 280, which can be switched with magazines containing different cassette types or colors.
November 2015—Agena Bioscience introduced the Chip prep moduleto automate sample handling after polymerase chain reaction for the MassArray 96-well System. This enables laboratories to operate the MassArray System largely unattended for high-throughput, multiplex genetic analysis.
November 2015—Nuclea Biotechnologies has met the requirements from the FDA for its Carbonic Anhydrase IX Automated immunohistochemistry kit as a class I in vitro diagnostic device for use on a Ventana Benchmark XT instrument.
November 2015—Leica Biosystems released its HistoCore Arcadia, a modular embedding system designed to streamline workflow in histopathology laboratories. HistoCore Arcadia is a combination of the paraffin-dispensing module Arcadia H and the cold plate Arcadia C. Simple operation and precise control help improve the quality, reliability, and speed of embedding work. The new station incorporates wrist pads for increased comfort and stability, an optional magnifier to facilitate specimen orientation of small and complex biopsies, and an LCD touchscreen.
November 2015—Bio SB PolyDetector Systems are highly sensitive micropolymeric detection systems that allow for the demonstration of antigens in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues, cryostat sections, blood smears, cytosmears, and cell preparations.
