July 2019—Magnolia Medical Technologies and the Center for Phlebotomy Education have expanded their training and education partnership with a Web-based continuing education course now available with Professional Acknowledgment for Continuing Education (PACE) credits.
October 2017—The Center for Phlebotomy Education has published The Lab Draw Answer Book. The book provides answers to more than 400 questions commonly asked by health care professionals about drawing, handling, and processing blood samples for laboratory tests.
March 2014—The Center for Phlebotomy Education will conduct intensive three-day seminars in Indianapolis and San Francisco for those who train or manage phlebotomists. The event will provide strategies to help attendees reduce expenses by cultivating satisfied, long-term employees; cut costs through process improvement; nurture professionalism and responsibility among specimen-collection personnel; implement different learning styles to maximize teaching; and mentor students and new staff.
The Center for Phlebotomy Education is conducting a three-day seminar for those who train or manage phlebotomists. It will take place Nov. 6–8 at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Ky. The staff of the Center for Phlebotomy Education will conduct the sessions. They are program administrator Catherine Ernst, RN, PBT(ASCP); program coordinator Lisa Steinam, PBT(ASCP); and executive director Dennis J. Ernst, MT(ASCP).
The Center for Phlebotomy Education is holding the Phlebotomy Supervisor’s Boot Camp July 10-12 and Nov. 6-8 in Louisville, Ky. Educators, phlebotomy supervisors, and lab managers who attend will acquire new skills and strategies for staff development, technical instruction, mentoring, and coaching professionalism. The presenters are Catherine Ernst, RN, PBT(ASCP), Lisa Steinam, PBT(ASCP), and Dennis Ernst, MT(ASCP).
