Bulk sorter configuration for frozen specimens, 10/16

October 2016—Yaskawa Motoman’s AutoSorter 2000BB bulk sorter has a new configuration available that can maintain frozen specimens in a -20°C environment during the sorting process. The high-speed bulk sorter for high-volume commercial laboratories provides maximum specimen throughput at up to 2,000 tubes per hour.

Ultraprotective vials, 10/16

October 2016—Wheaton launched its DualFusion Vial, which combines properties of plastic and glass into one container. Using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) technology, an organosilicate protective layer is fused with a silica-like (SiO2 barrier) layer that is fused to a cyclic olefin polymer (COP) shell to form a robust, covalently bonded material.

Streck signs distribution agreement, 10/16

October 2016—Streck and Diesse Diagnostica Senese S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer of in vitro diagnostic systems, are introducing the Diesse Mini-Cube, an automated instrument for erythrocyte sedimentation rate testing in EDTA tubes. Streck will be the exclusive distributor of the Mini-Cube in the United States and Canada.
