June 2014—Dako added two new antibodies, Anti-CK 8/18 and Anti-TdT, to its portfolio. Anti-CK 8/18 is a rabbit monoclonal antibody cocktail for cytokeratin 8/18 to help classify tumors of unknown origin.
June 2014—CellaVision launched two new products, the CellaVision DM9600 (a replacement for CellaVision DM96), and CellaVision Advanced RBC Application, a software application for advanced analysis of red blood cells, both for use in clinical laboratories that handle large testing volumes and require a large capacity.
June 2014—Randox’s Acusera HbA1c received FDA clearance. It is a 100 percent human whole blood, lyophilized control with assayed values provided for high-performance liquid chromatography and a wide range of clinical chemistry analyzers. When reconstituted the control remains stable for four weeks at 2°–8°C. The control is available in levels 1 and 2, and a calibrator is also available.
June 2014—Avanti JXN-26 centrifuges from Beckman Coulter have an intuitive interface and advanced data management features, including the ability to track and manage centrifuge runs remotely using MobileFuge, a mobile application for Apple iOS or Android devices.
June 2014—Techne added an in situ hybridization adapter to its Prime range of thermal cyclers. By inserting the adapter, a 96-well thermal cycler is converted to an in situ hybridization instrument that can accommodate up to four standard-size microscope slides with ±0.25˚C block uniformity.
June 2014—SeraCare launched its Accurun 611 product, a reference material that provides heterozygous, mutant, or wild-type scores for Factor II, Factor V, and Methlyenetetrahydrofolate reductase.
June 2014—The Minivette POC testing devices from Sarstedt are for the collection, transfer, and subsequent dispensing of small capillary blood samples for point-of-care tests. Blood is collected via capillary action into the collection capillary, the sample is held securely during transfer, and then it is dispensed onto the test field or into a micro tube with a slight push of the opposing integral piston.
June 2014—ViroStat released a pan-reactive monoclonal antibody that is positive for all 27 enteroviruses tested to date.
May 2014—The Stat Profile Prime is a blood gas analyzer from Nova Biomedical. It combines the company’s MicroSensor Card with its Zero maintenance cartridge technology, which consists of individual cartridges for biosensors, calibrators, and liquid quality control.
June 2014—The Binding Site has expanded its offering of clinical and research products to include a distinctive group of horseradish peroxidase conjugated sheep antibodies specific to human IgA, IgG, and IgM immunoglobulins and their fractional components.
