CellaVision expands product portfolio, 6/14

June 2014—CellaVision launched two new products, the CellaVision DM9600 (a replacement for CellaVision DM96), and CellaVision Advanced RBC Application, a software application for advanced analysis of red blood cells, both for use in clinical laboratories that handle large testing volumes and require a large capacity.

Randox FDA-cleared controls, 6/14

June 2014—Randox’s Acusera HbA1c received FDA clearance. It is a 100 percent human whole blood, lyophilized control with assayed values provided for high-performance liquid chromatography and a wide range of clinical chemistry analyzers. When reconstituted the control remains stable for four weeks at 2°–8°C. The control is available in levels 1 and 2, and a calibrator is also available.

High-performance centrifuge, 6/14

June 2014—Avanti JXN-26 centrifuges from Beckman Coulter have an intuitive interface and advanced data management features, including the ability to track and manage centrifuge runs remotely using Mobile­Fuge, a mobile application for Apple iOS or Android devices.

In situ hybridization adapter, 6/14

June 2014—Techne added an in situ hybridization adapter to its Prime range of thermal cyclers. By inserting the adapter, a 96-well thermal cycler is converted to an in situ hybridization instrument that can accommodate up to four standard-size microscope slides with ±0.25˚C block uniformity.

POC devices, 6/14

June 2014—The Minivette POC testing devices from Sarstedt are for the collection, transfer, and subsequent dispensing of small capillary blood samples for point-of-care tests. Blood is collected via capillary action into the collection capillary, the sample is held securely during transfer, and then it is dispensed onto the test field or into a micro tube with a slight push of the opposing integral piston.
