Enhanced capabilities for urinalysis system, 5/13:89

With a recent software upgrade (V2.5/2.3.0.0) and new adapter for its Clinitek Status Connect urine chemistry system, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics now offers hospitals and clinicians seamless wireless connectivity and improved bar-coding capabilities for point-of-care urinalysis testing. These enhancements enable greater flexibility, risk management, and speed.

The updated bar-code scanning features facilitate greater efficiency and quicker response time via simplified data entry that allows urine strip lot numbers and expiration dates to be input with one simple scan. Patient results can then be wirelessly transmitted from the Clinitek Status Connect system to POC middleware solutions, laboratory information systems, or electronic medical records.

These bar-coding and wireless connectivity enhancements complement the Clinitek Status Connect system’s advanced operator management functions, programmable quality control protocols, and QC lockout. The system combines with the Clinitek Status+ analyzer, which performs and reads Multistix brand urinalysis strips and the Clinitest hCG test.
