April 10, 2023—Maine Molecular Quality Controls has released SpotFire RSP positive and negative controls for use as external assayed quality controls to monitor the performance of in vitro laboratory nucleic acid testing for the qualitative detection of Bordetella parapertussis, Bordetella pertussis, Chlamydia pneumoniae, Mycoplasma pneumoniae, adenovirus, seasonal coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, human metapneumovirus, human rhinovirus/enterovirus, influenza A subtypes H1-2009 and H3, influenza B, parainfluenza virus, and RSV. One box contains six tubes, each with 300 μL of synthetic RNA suspended in a noninfectious solution of buffers, preservatives, and stabilizers. The controls are for use with the BioFire SpotFire Respiratory (R) panel performed on the SpotFire system.
