June 28, 2022—Streck, in partnership with Ceres Nanosciences, announced the availability of its viral extraction kit for clinical samples containing SARS-CoV-2 and influenza A.

“Expanding our partnership with Ceres Nanosciences to commercialize a kit for clinical respiratory samples bolsters Streck’s reach in a new and exciting way,” Matt Kreifels, Streck vice president of sales and business development, said in a press statement. “We are thrilled to offer a product that both simplifies and accelerates the workflow for RNA extraction.

The kit uses Nanotrap particle technology, which aims to improve testing by capturing, concentrating, and preserving low abundance analytes from biological samples. The pre-mixed buffers eliminate the need for additional chemicals or reconstitution so laboratory professionals can have eluted samples ready for downstream analysis, using techniques such as qPCR, ddPCR, or sequencing, in less than 30 minutes.
